We've chosen Halifax as the event location purely for logistical reasons. It's easy to get to, has plenty of places to stay, etc.
As it is a long way, we wanted to highlight the other things to do in this beautiful province for those who may wish to maximize their trip.

For all of the below locations I recommend checking out https://www.novascotia.com/places-to-go. If you're particularly interested and have questions or want help just let us know! Otherwise, I trust your powers of Google.
Annapolis Valley is in the Northwest of Nova Scotia. This is the wine region of the province and it is also home to the Bay of Fundy which has some of the highest and lowest tidal changes in the world. There is a charming little town called Wolfville as well which can be a lovely day or two side trip. This is where the little yellow Sunset Cottage is (aka our favorite place ever), here's that Airbnb listing.
It is possible to take a ferry from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island. Yes, the place with the oysters & Anne of Green Gables.
Cabot Trail is an absolutely gorgeous scenic byway along the coast of Cape Breton island. Fun fact, where we live (Antigonish) is about an hour from Cape Breton. There are artisanal shops all along the way. You can even got on a tour and see puffins! This is one of the, if not THE, absolute top things to do in Nova Scotia.
We live in Antigonish. If you're interested in coming up to where we live we'd be delighted to show you around town!
Transportation: We'll either need to drive you with us or you'll want to rent a car. I recommend the latter for your sake - it's quite a spread out little town! Acommodation: Unfortunately don't have much in the way of "spare rooms", but you're welcome to crash on the couch. Otherwise, you'll want to look for Airbnbs out this way.
Hotels: The Coastal Inn is just down the street. There are a variety of hotels in town as well (it's a college town, after all!).
